Twinkle little TV stars

On the road to TV land

Well it finally started. The girls are officially doing their training to be on TV.

This past Saturday was day one and they had a blast, learning how to visually express emotions, starting to learn their lines, learning about memory exercises, learning song and dance routines, building confidence etc. All under the watchful eye of an industry professional.

Learning is fun

The twinkles will attend weekly classes leading up to filming which will hopefully happen in March. This will be for a local Afrikaans kids program called “Lollos en Vriende “ and the professional actress training them is Marijke Coetzer of “Getroud met rugby”

Here’s to having fun and finding yourselves….. LEEF EPIES!

Don’t miss out on life

Our lives have been busy this year so far and I haven’t posted anything for some time….. and I’ve taken action which is extremely scary. But first, updates on the girls….

The twins started their first school year and are officially grade 1 learners. They are growing so quickly and before we know it they’ll be done.

Pride and confidence

I also had some time during the holiday to teach them how to swim! Some quality time which I never have!

I have realised how much I am missing out on. I am only a spectator and not really a part of them growing up. I realised how much me being there impacts them and how much more they can do if I am there for them…. That brought me to make the big decision of resigning from my job. I need to make big changes in my life in order to live and be part of their lives. (If anyone has work for me I’m interested 😉)

This made me think of how many people purely work and do not really live. People have come to a point where they miss out on the most important things while chasing carrots being dangled and will never reach. I’m not saying everyone must do what I am doing, but I am saying do not neglect that which you will regret the most in the long run.

Happy New Year

Experience the rare moments

The new year started off great! Family moments you don’t get often at all! Meeting family for the first time over the holidays and getting to see them off at the airport heading back to the UK. Holiday memories that will last a lifetime.

Looking to the future with hope and excitement. I hope everyone has a great 2023! Here’s to taking chances and everyone coming out on top!

It is the little things

Heading Home

Imagine! A world with a beautiful sunset right before your eyes. A world where children run up to you when you get home. A world where hugs and kisses and the slightest touch get shared between you and your partner every time you pass each other in the house.

A little something special for a little person

Imagine! A world where a little something special gets done for a little someone special. A world where a little someone special, appreciates a special teacher.

Giving love

Imagine! A world where everyone just wakes up and realise they don’t have to imagine! It is all right there in front of you! Open your eyes and take in the beauty of every moment you get to breathe! You are already living life!

Always be in touch

The last few weeks have been hectic. Car problems, geyser burst, oven packed up, power issues at work, SM, SC and BA on training leaving me to do everything myself…… BUT….

Family invited us over for a pizza evening. A couple of drinks and togetherness… Food for the soul…

Never alone

Then while heading home you witness this in the back seat and it blows your mind!

Togetherness, in our face the entire time. Kids, showing us adults how to live. We are just too busy and blind to see it!!!!

Wake up people!!! Live Epic Live Free!!! Leef Epies Leef Vry!!!

This is the picture of two soulmates in the back seat of a car. Aren’t we as adults married to our soulmates? Do we not yearn to hold hands while sleeping? Why do you not appreciate those moments?

Children are the window into true happiness and the picture of fully living!

Oh how I admire your freedom in living! I need to keep myself from showing jealously towards the children who lives the way we all should!

Show love to your family! Show love to your neighbour! Show love to the world!

Unite for something!

Stay in touch! Yes! Go phone your mom!

Ballet dads and Over achievers

Here! Take my man card!

That was the first thought when I took a pink elastic band out of my pocket at work today. The elastic was from a pair of ballet pumps which was sticking out when Charlotte and Chevelle did their exams. Yes, dad made a plan and just ripped it out.

But then I came to my senses. It takes a real man to put up with a ballet mom and two ballerinas. Yes Superman should look up to me 🤣

A sign that I’m a ballet dad

So then my mind wandered to my young days when my brother and I both, had our provincial colours for 5 different sports at the same time. Yeah! Over achievers *pushing my chest out looking like a retired HULK*

Then it dawned on me. The twinkles are heading in the same direction 😳, or even more at their current rate 🫣. I NOW KNOW WHAT MY PARENTS REALLY DID FOR US! Would love to have been able to thank them just one more time.

To our girls…. GO CONQUER THE WORLD! No thanks needed. We are so proud of you. Mom, Dad and everyone reading this, will help you live your dreams!

Ballet Exams – Passed
Music school – year passed

One must just get back up

I have been writing about our twins the whole time, and made brief mention of the crazy moms and my wife. But I think it is needed that I tell you all a bit more about Mrs General Jack.

This superhero runs the household, has a full time job, takes care of not only the twins and myself but every other person that she comes into contact with. She pulled the neighbour kids in for youth, assists some people in rehab, helps anyone who is sick in our community, donates and teaches our kids to donate to the less fortunate, goes overboard with any activity or get together in order to make it special etc……. She is just Epic! LeefEpiesLeefVry

But recently she was knocked down after having a seizure. A very scary experience to say the least. We were having Sunday lunch and all of a sudden I felt a elbow and watched her kick her food around the floor… she obviously didn’t know what happened but I myself went cold!

She is still getting over the whole experience and one can see the worry in her face even though she does her best to hide it. I like joking about her break dance attempt but in all honesty the entire ordeal gave us a kick in the goonies. Hospital and doctor bills set us back and we have to work twice as hard to keep things going for the twins.

But what does she do? She just works even harder to help everyone else! RESPECT! LeefEpiesLeefVry!

Buying our crafts helps us get back on our feet so continue to do so. We appreciate each and every one of you.

Ballet exams and fund raising

The twinkles had their ballet exams yesterday and I saw a completely different side of things…. Crazy moms, teachers and kids 🤣🤷‍♂️. The hair isn’t correct, the tutus don’t look the same, be quiet…. and you are not allowed in to watch!!!

I also realised that we aren’t the only ones overwhelmed by the cost of everything. Every T-shirt, beer mug, puzzle etc sold at least gives a little relief 🤕

Next week the acting classes are starting and our little dancers / actresses / gymnasts / scholars have another addition to the list of activities driving parents insane. And we wouldn’t have it any other way. Giving them every possible opportunity or moment of joy is what makes parenthood so fulfilling!

Thanks to those who have purchased items from General Jack and to those supporting the twinkles by attending concerts etc! You are just as much a part of this journey as we are!

Thank you for being so epic, and allowing our girls to live free! Leef Epies Leef Vry!
